Melody Thornton who recently released her mixtape P.O.Y.B.L has taken to This Is 50, to discuss her previous role in the Pussycat Dolls, as well as her upcoming projects. The Arizona native reveals the reason for naming her first solo effort Piss On Your Black List, her musical influences, taking time off after leaving the group, and more.
Candid interview indeed, it's exciting to see that Melody is finally stepping out of the shadow and into the light. One thing that is clear from this interview is that the original members of the group just weren't as cohesive as fans were lead to believe. Yes, contracts ended, but if you're dedicated to the success of a group, your'e going to sign your name on that line, and yet make sure that in your contract you're still allowed to pursue a solo effort if your creativity warrants you to. After all, Nicole was venturing out on her failed solo debut, so it would've only been fair id Robin Antin put that much effort into the rest of the women.
